A Germany-wide initiative: make your pharmacy climate neutral.
Climate neutral pharmacy
Strong double: our serve for the climate neutral pharmacy
In the course of our initiative "Shaping. SUSTAINABILITY. NEW.", the NOVENTI Group is committed not only to maintain climate neutrality for our company, but also to pave the way for our employees, business partners and customers. After the NOVENTI OPEN – the most beautiful climate-neutral tennis tournament – and our climate-neutral trade fair stand at expopharm, we would now like to work with you, the local pharmacies, to create a strong double to climate neutrality.
Our goal: We want to make it possible for every pharmacy in Germany to become climate-neutral – and in a very simple way. The pharmacy commits itself to carry out measures locally – we as NOVENTI compensate in response the CO2 emissions of the pharmacy through the support of a climate project.
We are pleased that Dr. Gerd Müller, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, has assumed patronage of the initiative.
Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr. Gerd Müller, will also be a guest at our launch event for the initiative in Berlin on 13 February. Nina Ruge, the first official ambassador of the Alliance for Climate and Development, will guide the guests through the programme. Besides a panel discussion, among others with Prof. Dr. h.c. mult. Franz Josef Radermacher, President of the Senate of the Economy, Dr. Hermann Sommer, CEO of NOVENTI, and Holger Wessling, CEO of the "Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank" (German bank for pharmacists and doctors), the first climate-neutral pharmacy in Germany will also receive an award at this event.
Take part now - This is how it works
You want to become a climate-neutral pharmacy? Then start now with these measures:
We compensate the CO2 emissions for the pharmacy in Germany. If the four measures have been implemented in the pharmacy, a questionnaire answering on the ecological footprint is filled out.
→ If you have any questions concerning this initiative, feel free to contact us.
FOKUS ZUKUNFT calculates the CO2 emissions of the pharmacy on the basis of the data in the questionnaire. NOVENTI then compensates for this with financial support for the wind power project in India.
The climate project
Wind power project of the vaccine manufacturer SIIL
Serum Institute of India (SIIL) is a vaccine manufacturer in India and accredited by the WHO. Approximately 65% of children worldwide receive vaccines from SIIL. With growing concerns about the environment and climate, SIIL has implemented measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by designing and installing wind power projects in Maharashtra. The generated electricity prevents the construction of new coal-fired power plants. With our commitment, we also support the "Alliance for Development and Climate" of the Minister of Development, Dr. Gerd Müller, and the Senate of the Economy and Labour.
Additional climate protection measures
In addition to the measures required for certification, we recommend further measures to minimize your ecological footprint.
- Appointment of an internal climate officer
- Installation of a timer for the central heating to switch off or turn down the heating at non-working hours.
- Replace old electrical appliances (10-15 years old) with energy-saving appliances (A+++) (For example, a class A+++ refrigerator uses 22% less electricity than an average reference appliance).
- Switch to energy-saving LED lights
- Create incentives to motivate employees to use public transport or the bicycle to get to work
- Provide water dispensers for filtered tap water (e.g. ARAMARK brand)
